ELTEfeszt, taking place on October 10, 2025, is the career guidance festival of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE). Each autumn, it offers high school students from all over the country the opportunity to experience the university's diverse academic and community life. Attendees can enjoy inspiring lectures, interactive workshops and engaging discussions, and talk to lecturers and current students about the questions that interest them most.
This year, the main events of ELTEfeszt will take place from 8:30 to 10:00 in the historic Gólyavár building in the Trefort Garden. The opening event of the day will feature a welcome speech by Anna Dorottya Nagy, President of the ELTE Student Union (EHÖK). This will be followed by a presentation on the value of an ELTE degree in the domestic and international labour market by Dr Judit Mádlné Szőnyi, ELTE’s Vice-Rector for General Affairs. After that, Tamás Cseszregi, ELTE's Director of Education, will explain the admission process to the high school students, and then Attila Márkus, an expert from the Student Loan Centre, will talk about the opportunities available for financing higher education studies.
The last of main presentations will conclude at 9:40 with a talk by Dr. Tihamér Margitay, professor of our Faculty, on the role of artificial intelligence in education. Teaching students about AI is already part of the GTK curriculum since the Faculty aims to equip its students with both economics knowledge, and — building on the most modern educational technologies of the 21st century — with digital and analytical skills that are now essential in the business world. Our students are not only permitted to use AI in their studies, but they are also explicitly encouraged to do so within a regulated framework for coursework, project assignments and theses.
Starting at 10 am, the Faculty’s programs will once again focus on introducing the economics programmes, presenting the economics professions, and supporting conscious career planning. Visitors will learn about how a degree in finance, accounting, marketing, management or international business economics can prepare them for a career. They will also receive useful information on choosing a degree programme and planning their studies, as well as information on the Faculty's scholarship-based language learning system, the Erasmus programme, and other international placement opportunities at more than 80 universities abroad. This year, ELTEfeszt will also welcome a special guest: the Hungarian head of one of the world's largest investment funds, who will share her experiences as a woman in the financial sector and provide inspiration to those aiming for leadership positions in business.
We will welcome our guests at the Faculty of Economics stands, located in the lobby of Gólyavár and in front of Hall R (R Aula), with information materials, including printed copies of our latest admission guide, Future in Focus. Here, visitors will have the opportunity to meet lecturers and students in person and ask questions about the GTK student community, and how the Faculty supports students in consciously planning and making the most of their university studies and life.
The Faculty hopes that the October event will already provide participants with useful information to help them decide on continuing their studies, choose the most suitable programme and plan their university years. From November onwards, we will welcome back those who would like to learn more about these topics during our Open Days, held on six separate occasions on campus. More details at ELTEfeszt!
