The Faculty of Economics has a new management and a new dean. Professor Mihály Ormos took up the post on 1 October 2025.
The new dean will be supported by a new management team: Gábor Bóta as Vice-Dean for General Affairs, Gabriella Lamanda as Vice-Dean for Educational Affairs, and Benedek Láng as Vice-Dean for Coordination.
Three new directors were also appointed: Mária Magyar will be responsible for marketing and communications, Piroska Hoffmann for events, and László Szívós for international affairs and programmes.

The handover process is currently underway. The new management outlined their tasks and objectives at a faculty meeting on 17 October 2025. There, Professor Ormos thanked the previous management for their work and emphasised the importance of continuing their work: "We have inherited a very solid foundation, which we would like to build upon and enhance. At ELTE GTK, we have always followed the approach of rotating management positions among our highly qualified colleagues. I believe that we can be successful if, regardless of who the actual management team is, we stay committed to the course that we can all be proud of."

The new dean replaces Professor Tihamér Margitay, who served as faculty dean between 2022 and 2025. Professor Margitay talked about the results of the past three years in a separate interview that is currently available in Hungarian here.
The new management is committed to building on the Faculty’s previous achievements with the aim of further advancing its professional community, as well as improving its academic and research performance.
