Documents for enrolment
Present the ORIGINAL VERSION + 1 PHOTOCOPY of the following documents at the enrolment event.

It is best if you make the copy before your departure for Hungary because, although there is an independent photocopy place at Rákóczi út 5. (ELTE Astoria Campus, Building R, ground floor), it may not be open when you come.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: enrolment without the original documents AND the photocopies is NOT possible.

ALL STUDENTS: 

Passport (and visa, if applicable): 

  • In case of EU citizens: passport or photo ID. 
  • Students with double citizenship must present both passports.
  • If a visa is required to enter Hungary, both the main page of the passport AND the visa page must be photocopied.

In addition to the above,

STIPENDIUM HUNGARICUM STUDENTS & SELF-FINANCED DEGREE PROGRAMME STUDENTS:

  1. School leaving certificate/Secondary or high school diploma with grades
  2. Official English translation of the above if it was not issued in English or if it is not bilingual
  3. Transcript of secondary/high school records of the last two years of school
  4. Official English translation of the above if it was not issued in English or if it is not bilingual
  5. “Enrolment pack”, consisting of three items, namely the “Enrolment sheet”, the “Privacy statement” (also called “Data protection declaration”), and the “Alumni declaration”. You will be able to print these documents after registering for the current semester (activating your student status). The system automatically prints two copies of the „Enrolment sheet” – one will be called ”Institution’s copy” (ours) and one will be named ”Copy of the student” (yours). Bring both copies along to your enrolment session. Your copy will be returned after it has been processed by Registry.) Printing instructions:
    • In Neptun, register for an active semester if you have not done so yet. (Accepted students receive instructions by email.)
    • Then go to Information > General Forms
    • Find Enrolment sheet
    • Click on the + sign (Options) at the end of the row and choose Print.
    • Print the above documents single-sided (one page per sheet) AFTER double-checking and, if necessary, completing and/or correcting your details.
  6. Housing contract (proof of temporary address) – if you already have it. If not, it must be presented at the International Office during the first weeks of the semester/of your stay in Hungary.
  7. English language exam certificate
  8. Residence permit (international students already residing in Hungary)
  9. Tax card (if already available)
  10. TAJ (social security ID) number or card (if already available)
  11. UNDERAGE SELF-FINANCED APPLICANTS, in addition to the above:
    • The Declaration earlier uploaded to the application platform.
    • The residence permit of the authorised person earlier uploaded to the application platform by the application deadline. The residence permit must be valid until after the underage applicant turns 18. 
    • The official bilingual Authorisation for exercising legal consent to statements of a minor of limited legal capacity (Authorisation, for short) earlier uploaded to the application platform.
    Please note that, when enrolling underage students, the Authorisation document can be replaced by the minor’s birth certificate if he/she is accompanied by his/her parent. In addition to the above-mentioned documents, the passports of all the parties involved (minor plus parent/authorised person/legal guardian) must also be presented together with their photocopies.  

ERASMUS AND GUEST STUDENTS: 

  1. Home university’s documents, e.g., Certificate of Arrival/Enrolment – if this is their standard procedure. If in doubt, students should ask their home coordinator.
  2. Any official documents required by the home university/grant provider that ELTE GTK needs to sign.

All submitted documents will be completed, signed, and stamped by ELTE GTK in due course and eventually returned to you. If you do not have a copy of your Certificate of Arrival / Enrolment on you at the enrolment workshop, this matter can also be arranged at the International Office during office hours at a later date.
